# How to Connect Mixpanel

If you use Mixpanel instead of Google Analytics to track user retention and engagement events, the setup process is entirely frictionless.

**Step-by-Step Setup:**

1. Log into your Mixpanel Dashboard.
2. Navigate to your Project Settings (usually found by clicking the gear icon in the top right corner).
3. Under the "Project Details" or "Access Keys" section, locate your Project Token.
4. Copy the Project Token and paste it directly into the Mixpanel connection field on your Surge project setup form.

No additional configuration, JSON files, or service accounts are required.
